Irony- the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning
"The boy is probably only frightened" The father said this when thet found a knife under a kid's pillow. Normally people would confront the kid or start to watch him closer.

"Father tried to reason with Otto when he let him go, trying to explain that what he did was wrong." But Otto didn't listen.
Normally he'd at least listen to Father instead of ignoring him completely.

Stereotype- a commonly held public belief about specific social groups, or types of individuals and radios.
The old are harder to unteach and get to believe other things.
This is not necessarily true, considering the fact that they ar old and have knowledge and if they are forced might change their ways.
Second example??

Allusion- An allusion is a reference to, or representation of, a place, event, literary work, myth, or work of art, either directly or by implication
"If father saw war and defeat, then there was no other way at all." They were going to go to war and probably die.
Second example??

Personification-Personification is an ontological metaphor which a thing or abstraction is represented as a person
The voice did not talk or shout. It screamed. (Refering to Hitler) He is a thing.. Not a human being.
Good!
A second example ???

Symbolism- Symbolism is the use of multiple symbols representing differentiated terms in a system which conveys meaning.
The Star of David represented Jewish people.

The patch of sky above the chimney tops glowed orange-red. This means that the sun was coming up.
This is a great example of a literary term, but which one is it??

Winter - you have some great quotes and some great explanations. Unfortunately, this is not complete. Two examples are required.
